On Sunday, July 18, the people of Trinidad, Colorado will celebrate the dedication of the Sister Blandina Wellness Gardens, a community wellness park operated by Mount Carmel in tribute to S. Blandina Segale. Recently a 5-foot, 4-inch life-size statue of S. Blandina was installed in the gardens. Created by Pueblo-born sculptor Fred Darpino, the statue will be the focal point of the gardens. All the day’s activities will take place in downtown Trinidad and will include:
10 a.m.-1 p.m.: Presiding Prelate: His Excellency, Most Reverend Stephen J. Berg, Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Pueblo for the Mass, Blessing, and our Lady of Mount Carmel dedication and tribute, with live musical and theatrical performances
1 p.m.-4 p.m.: Music in the Gardens and trolley tours of Trinidad
6 p.m.-9 p.m.: S. Blandina storytelling performance by acclaimed film producer Michael Fitzgerald, followed by live music in the Gardens
