Weekly Bulletin October 4, 2020

During the month of October, the Catholic Church celebrates “Respect Life Month” and on this Sunday we observe “Respect Life Sunday”.  The theme for “Respect Life Month” for 2020-2021 is for all of us to “Live the Gospel of Life” as we are called to reflect on every human life.  The theme explores how Jesus becoming a man and redeeming us through his humanity reveals the dignity of all human life and how the Gospel of life is therefore essential to our identity as followers of Christ.  As Catholics we are called to protect and defend the most vulnerable in our society throughout a persons life from conception to their final day.  Pope Francis states:  “We are called to show mercy because mercy has first been shown to us”.

Around the United  States and in Canada, many “Life Chains” will be formed to hold a peaceful and prayerful way to stand for one hour as they pray to end abortion.  Thousands will take part in this tradition as multiple churches come together to pray.  In Ohio, there will be one held in  in Dayton, Ohio and one of the largest “Life Chains” will take place on “Respect Life Sunday” in Lake Ridge, Virginia with the Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton “Life Chain” from 2:30-3:30 PM on this Sunday.

The Archdiocese of Cincinnati (Founded on June 19, 1821) has a Respect Life Fund that supports over 100 life giving organizations.  Since 1973, the Archdiocese Pastoral Council established an annual collection for the life sustaining organizations within the 19 counties  of the Archdiocese.  All of the generous donations of parishioners goes directly to assisting much needed organizations such as  the Healthy Beginnings/Pregnancy Center West.  All monies collected are forwarded to the Chancery Office and are designated  for the Respect-Life Collection.  As you make your donation, please consider the work and dedication of the Respect Life Ministries  who help individuals make informed Respect-Life decisions.

San Antonio Church will celebrate our 98th Anniversary next week, October 11th and also the 84th Annual Spaghetti Dinner with Dine In and Carry Out.  For details on the weekend event please call Victor Minella at 513-520-5594 or Dave Sabatelli at 513-405-6444.
